We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryleigh Trystan Strong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryleigh Trystan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It wouldn’t be easy, it would be a long, slow uphill grind. That there would be loses but it would all be worth it in the long run. To be your own boss, and not work for someone else’s agenda. There are no limits, all you can do is grow.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a wide variety of styles. I don’t like to put my visions into a box and stick to only one “aesthetic or vibe.” i’m really up for anything when it comes to putting together a creative vision from a dreamy warm engagement shoot to a dark high contrast witchy shoot. However, I think it can be a little difficult branding with how wide my portfolio ranges, it’s hard to narrow in and target specific audiences for bookings. I’ve learned it’s best to brand towards wedding and engagements or portraits, but just to offer the other services on your website as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would most likely take a hike on one of the beautiful colorado trails we have here. Then take a visit to botanical gardens, meow wolf, a few of the crystal shops and apothecaries in Denver. And end it all off with some good sushi.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My inspiration for photography came from my old friend from highschool named, Hunter. He was the photographer for the church in our town since middle school and his work was so incredible from such a young age. It was so inspiring I went back home begging for a camera, and that’s when I found my first camera in my moms closet and started taking photos of the highschool football games with Hunter. I still look to him even to this day, 5 years later, for inspiration and even guidance on some rare occasions.
