We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandy Lamb and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sandy, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I believe in a world where all leaders model emotionally intelligent behavior to transform the way their teams collaborate and grow, both personally and professionally. Through my speaking engagements, assessments, and 1:1 executive coaching, I connect with women, in male dominated industries, to gain confidence in their God-given ability to inspire and influence others by their authentic leadership style. We often work through areas of their own personal emotional intelligence to allow for them to demonstrate greater self-regulation and social awareness which in turn makes for a more open-minded corporate culture and world. When we work on flexing our EQ and resilience muscles, we learn to maintain high levels of effectiveness and well being in the midst of challenge and disruption.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As CEO and Owner of Altitude Business Coaching, I started with a mission to coach small business owners but since my “doors” opened in January 2018, I have pivoted in 2019 and expanded in 2020. God bless COVID and its silver lining. The work I do now is much more focused in the corporate space, rather than the entrepreneurial world and is aimed at furthering my movement to ensure that all leaders demonstrate emotional intelligence through their own unique authentic leadership style. Additionally, through one of my strategic alliance partners, I do career coaching for those that may be in transition coming back to the workforce after raising a family or losing their job due to the pandemic. Finally, my passion includes supporting aspiring TedX speakers to reach their dream of standing on the big red dot, through my Speak Easy Mastermind group. Anything worth having is worth fighting for! As I recently shared with a group of fellow coaches, leaving a legacy is so important to me. It means that every day I impact the world in a positive way and my actions will resonate forever for those I serve.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So many amazing places to visit in Colorado and I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing them all myself yet. Here are a few of my faves thus far: Estes Park, Mount Princeton Hot Springs & Buena Vista, Breckenridge (any time of year), Colorado Springs/Manitou: Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Pikes Peak and the Cog Railway (now re-opened). Hiking and climbing, oh my! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my fabulous and uber supportive family. Mike for 25 years of lifting me up and cheering me on! Caitlyn, Brendan and Ainslee for making me a better woman and mother every day to create a legacy and tell a story that makes you all proud.
