Meet Shane Herl | Mortgage Loan Officer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shane Herl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shane, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I realized that I have gifts and passions that I wasn’t using in my 9-5 job. As I continued to show up each day and not utilize my gifts, the conviction to make a leap into a new career kept growing. After a few months of that I decided it was time to do something about it. I wanted to be able to challenge myself each day, grow in discipline, and see the fruit of hard work. I love knowing that I have to show up and give my best each and every day, and I will be rewarded for that.
I also wanted to be in control of my own time. I am a dad of 2 boys, and a husband and being away from my family for 10+ hours a day felt as if I was missing pivotal moments in our relationship. Now I get to work from home, spend time with them and invest my best into my family.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a local loan officer here in Castle Rock, Colorado. I help families, business owners and investors achieve wealth through homeownership. What sets me apart from other loan officers is my upfront transparency and genuine care for each and every one of my clients. I provide resources for each client that take alot of extra time and effort, and I give an exceedingly above average customer service experience because I genuinely want what is best for each client, and I want them to be fully informed on their decision. This is not the industry norm.
Truthfully, my authenticity and dedication to succeeding are how I’ve made it. When I made the transition into this career I promised to myself that giving up was not an option. I had faith, and continue to have faith that if I continue to do the right things each and every day, I will see the fruit of my labor. I wake up each day and I sow the right seeds into the business and I stay faithful to it. I take each challenge as a learning lesson, and I genuinely embrace it with excitement because I know it’s going to make me not only better at my job, but a better human. Maintaining that perspective is incredibly difficult, but it’s the only way to succeed.
I’ve learned that starting a business is one of the most challenging things a person can do, but one of the most beautiful things a person can do. You will see the world differently, and you will face sides of yourself that you would never see otherwise. If you embrace it with the perspective that this is a growth opportunity, you will become a better human as a result.
I want the world to know that this career is just a vessel for me to make a genuine impact on people. I want to serve my clients to the best of my ability because I want them be impacted positively. This isn’t about money to me, it’s about caring for people. That is what you will experience when we work together!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would start in Castle Rock, and I would show them the main street area first. We would grab Lost Coffee and then go to Great Divide Brewery for lunch. We would then head up to Estes Park and walk the strip, then drive into Rocky Mountain National Park. We’d stay there at an AirBnB and have beers, hang out and talk about life.
Then we would go up to Steamboat Springs and go fly fishing for a couple of days and would try different restaurants in the area. We’d go hiking around the area and just relax.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Truthfully, my wife Chloe. She has endlessly encouraged and challenged me to take the leap of faith to start my own business. She has also been my biggest supporter in the moment when I have felt like I wasn’t going to make it. Not only both of those things, but she has also taken on our boys for a large majority of each day so that I can focus on building this business. I would most definitely not have made it this far if it wasn’t for her continuing to push me in the dark moments.
