We had the good fortune of connecting with Sivan Grasser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sivan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Being in the real estate business is not new to me. My biggest inspiration is my father who always made smart decisions with his real estate investments on top of his full time job to support the family and to give my brother and I the best life possible. He is the one that taught me to build wealth with real estate, so when I finished grad school I bought my first single family home here in Colorado. Since then, my husband and I started to invest and bought two more investment properties. Being a first time home buyer was a difficult and stressful time and I didn’t have anyone I knew to support me through the process, but I had a good realtor that guided me every step of the way and helped me make good decisions. This was inspiring to me and while seeing many of my friends struggling through the process, I decided that I wanted to help other people guide them through the home buying process and help them make good decisions that will set them up for a better life. It just made sense to start my own business at that point since I was already in the real estate market and knew the Denver area well.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a real estate agent and created my own business about a year ago- Your Colorado Home with Sivan. Nothing about being here was easy and it took me many years to find out what I’m passionate about in life. My background is that I grew up in Israel and only after completing mandatory services in the IDF, I moved to the US to study my Doctorate of Physical Therapy for 7 years and have been a Home Health Clinician working with the older adult population for the last 6 years. Unfortunately, it was a difficult time to work in healthcare during the pandemic and I felt like I had a calling to get into the real estate world. As I mentioned above, I already had personal experience with buying a few homes and investing in real estate. Also, I realized that many of the people that I knew had a bad experience with the home buying process and I saw an opportunity to assist first time home buyers to make the process as easy as possible with the proper support they needed. I started to study for the real estate license exam while I still worked full time as a PT and was planning my own wedding. Within a few months I passed the exam and opened my business. Initially, I had to invest a lot of my own time to learn the ins and out of being a business owner, how to be a realtor, and how to market myself. As I started to learn everything about real estate and be more involved in it, I have become even more passionate with the profession and realized there are many ways I can assist clients in ways that I couldn’t before. My biggest passion is the new program my business partner, David Williams, and I are creating to assist seniors and their real estate needs. We are creating a liaison service that will be able to support seniors throughout the entire real estate process. From the initial steps of preparing the home, to selling it, and to the final steps of transitioning them to a more appropriate place in their stage of life. I have always been passionate about working with the older adult population and now I have the chance to combine my past experience along with the future program that we are currently creating.
What sets me apart from other agents is that I’m not just a realtor. I’m also an advisor and educator. I educate my clients prior to starting the process of selling or buying a home, support them every step of the way during the process, and set them up for success even after the closing day. I get to assist my friends, family, and clients everyday to make good decisions in their lives and help them create a better future. There is nothing that makes me happier than to wake up every morning to a job that I love to do and to have a good work-life balance.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Colorado and there is so much to see and explore here. If you come visit me in the winter you’ll find me skiing the slopes of Copper Mountain, and if you come in the summer you’ll find me hiking and trail running in my favorite mountain range, The San Juans. For a more chill day in the Denver area, I would take my friends for a close hike at North Table Mountain in Golden to check out the city views from the top, followed by a brunch at Cafe 13. Then, we would go for a little walk around Sloan’s Lake before having an early afternoon drink and a snack at the Colorado Tap House here in Arvada. Finally, we would finish the night at Red Rocks to enjoy one of the best concert venues around.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shoutout to my husband Cory Grasser who is the most supportive person in my life and always encourages me to keep going even when it gets hard and helps me make my business the best it can be. He supports me professionally with his amazing videography skills to capture homes in their best and assists with my social media marketing. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.
