Meet Sixx Cobain | Artist & Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sixx Cobain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sixx, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My initial thought process was most likely like a lot of other business starters. I believed that whatever I pursued, my friends, family and even strangers would have the upmost support for me. Turns out I was wrong and the journey to having a successful business is going to be a lot more complex then I thought. When I started my business, I wanted people to hear my thoughts so I expressed them in songs. Fast forward a couple of years and now I want people to not only be able to hear my thoughts but to see my thoughts on clothes.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is my diversity of arts and music. I’ve always been heavily involved with music and have been wanting to make some of my own since I was a child. To get where I am today, I had to go through a lot of obstacles and overcome a lot of negativity and doubt. I also had to deal with a lot of my close friends and family not supporting me the way I expected them to. The way I got over this was with friends that kept me motivated and it helped me pursue my musical career without expecting people to support me. I’ve learned that you can’t help everybody because everybody doesn’t want to be helped. I’ve also learned that people come and go, but no matter what time keeps moving.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would probably have to take them to a sporting event to show them how our city is so involved with our sports teams. We’d have to hit the best Mexican spots in the city for the food and we’d have to hit the best bars. The most fun thing we do would probably be to do a pop-up concert with our friends at the skate park.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be here without the musical motivation inspired by my close friends 1kCxxpe and T3rbo. I wouldn’t have kept my music career alive if it weren’t for the members of 3vil. Shoutout to my kids for keeping me motivated and for giving me the strength to go through another day.
