Meet Stephanie Bente | CBD Company Owner and Product Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Bente and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Although most people at this point have tried Multiple CBD brands and know that some work and some don’t…. they don’t understand why and what to look for. CBD is processed in many ways. The way CBD is processed and what it is combined with has everything to do whether the product works or not.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I came up in the hospitality industry, over worked, underpaid with nothing to show for it. This had alot to do with me undervaluing my inner voice. I knew I was supposed to be doing more with my life but had no idea how. My husband and I moved out to Colorado searching for opportunity like many others. I was doing well in banking but was bored creatively. I loved the CBD products I was trying because they were an all natural substitute for the migraines I had experienced since I was a child but felt I could make them with better ingredients. It seemed like CBD was the only ingredient that was focused on. Wether a product is a topical or something you ingest, the ingredients end up in your bloodstream. This is a great positive if the ingredients are high quality. It took about a year for me to come up with the recipes that I am now happy with as well as the branding and marketing for the company. I did every thing myself because living in Colorado is not cheap and we didn’t have the funds to put into it. Four summers ago after experimenting on friends and family I applied to my first farmers market. Within only a few months I was making more on my side hustle than I was as a banker. That was all the validation I needed! What I didn’t expect was how rewarding it is. To provide a healthy alternative to medications, knowing that I am helping others live better and the ability to be completely transparent is a feeling I have no words for.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Denver!!! When we have company, we don’t stop. The first focus is always which trails should we do. Idaho Springs is a great place for magical hikes with waterfalls and some of my favorite lakes. If we have more adventurous guests we get out to Rocky Mountain National of course. We have recently moved North of Denver and discovered Eldora, the perfect place for family skiing and snowboarding. In the city, Sushi Den is a must and one of a kind. There are breweries all over the place and I haven’t been to one that I wouldn’t go back to. Just drive around for 5 minutes and you will run into one. Farmers markets have a special place in my heart and Colorado has some amazing farms. I am proud to be a part of the Cherry Creek Market (the longest running market in Colorado or at least Denver), The Parker Farmer’s Market and The Castle Rock Market at Festival Park. Coloradoans are loyal to local vendors and have a great love for their communities. My favorite days are a morning hike followed by a visit to a local brewery and then the farmers market to pick up fresh ingredients for dinner.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family and customers are my inspiration. My husband keeps me grounded and our 2 boys keep me going. My family believes in my drive and my customers trust in Petrichor Products. In the beginning my family and friends were my testers and quickly began to substitute medication for the CBD products I was creating for aches. pains and sleep aids. This really gave me the confidence to branch out into farmers markets. The feedback and praise I received from new customers was incredible. Now I have many returning customers who share their stories with me, for this I am grateful and surely rewarded.
