We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Kaiser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always loved entrepreneurship as a way to make space for new approaches and ideas. In the case of saymore, I had some challenging experiences working in a male-heavy corporate culture that motivated me to find others to connect with, vent, and find support. But the communities I was finding online didn’t reflect my experiences and feelings, nor those of my friends and loved ones. Many nuanced topics around mental health aren’t always discussed online, especially when it comes to centering women and marginalized communities. saymore was born out of the desire to create inclusive, safe spaces where people could have more of these discussions.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m the founder of saymore, a social platform dedicated to mental wellness. I started my career in corporate finance but found the environment stifling and unsafe for authentic expression. I wanted a community platform that supported women and effected positive discussion and change, but I didn’t see one, so I decided to build it. Taking the leap was scary at first, but I’m in love with the work and am learning so much every day. I wouldn’t trade my journey for anything.

My heart has always led me back to entrepreneurship – my first founder experience was creating a youth social tennis club as part of the Charlotte Tennis Association! I love the creativity, and how entrepreneurship lets people make things that help others feel seen. Ultimately, I just hope to leave the world a little better than I found it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
While I don’t live in Denver, I’ve visited frequently and love it! Some of my favorite things to do include hiking at Red Rocks and grabbing drinks at Blush and Blu, an awesome gay bar in Capitol Hill.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my parents for being my biggest cheerleaders, and instilling early confidence in me to just go for it. Their unwavering support and belief in me has been priceless. My mom was also a pro tennis player, so I grew up playing tennis and am a former state champion. Tennis fostered my love of competition and playfulness, which I try to bring into every chapter of my life.
