We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Magee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, how does your business help the community?
With everything that is happening in the world today, we consider it our mission to create a refuge for people to escape to. A place to go that for 60 minutes they can tune everything out and just focus on the the workout. They come in and we strive to create an environment that is full of positivity, encouragement and motivation. All with the goal of having every member feeling better than when the walked in the door. And we truly believe that when we help them to feel better they can be better version of themselves as they go out in to their lives. And from there it has a ripple effect on the people the meet and interact with. If we create space for our members to feel joy and positivity, they can then be empowered to go out and spread joy and positivity to those around them.
What should our readers know about your business?
My husband and I have always wanted to be business owners. In January 2020, we made the decision to make the leap and pursued the opportunity to be franchise owners for Spenga. We signed the paperwork to be owners on March 9th, 2020. Just days from the entire fitness industry and world being flipped on it’s head. To get where we are know has not been easy, its been a series of one battle after the next. Even now, in one month of being open we’ve had to navigate mask mandates, the omicron outbreak, serious plumbing issues, and so much more. But what keeps us going is that we stand firm in the knowing that we were called to this work. We have been called to serve the city of Wheat Ridge and surrounding Denver area. So many people need a place to get back to health, but more importantly they need a place to connect and belong. So while it has not been easy, it has been worth it because we are changing lives through, one day, one work, one rep at time.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were coming in to town. I’d first take her to my studio for the best workout ever! Then we would head to Elevate38 for some protein waffles and refreshers. For lunch we would go to Stylus and Crate for some coffee and food. Then for dinner we would either go to Lady Nomada in Olde Town Arvada or Audacity in Wheat Ridge… Or maybe both for some light food and drinks.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Eri Redmond is our Assistant General Manager and Lead Instructor. The sessions that she instructs are filled with encouragement and motivation, not only does she make you sweat but she helps you to dig deep and change from the inside out. Additional, she works diligently with the whole team to help all of us bring the same experience to all our sessions. She is nothing short of amazing.
