We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Pinsler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Namasport first began as a modality integrating sport psychology and yoga intended to bridge the gap between the mind and body. As the method evolved and years went by, we realized there was much more to provide to each client to create a holistic experience. The collaboration of mental health and wellness grew and we started to open studio spaces where groups and clients could arrive and feel connected to themselves while also adapting to the environments around them. With years of collaboration and education, Namasport Mental Health Studio now provides behavioral therapy, clinical counseling, sport psychology, yoga, meditation, Pilates, sound healing, art, and integral mindfulness events.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Namasport Mental Health Studio strives to bridge the gap between the mind and body. Offerings include clinical counseling, sport psychology, meditation, yoga, Pilates and sound healing. These can be in individual or group settings depending on the vision of the client- also there’s always a therapy dog in the studio which a plus. We have therapeutic classes that fuse clinical counseling and sport psychology techniques with meditation, yoga, and sound healing. This sets us apart from other practices because clients can explore mental health inside and outside of the clinical counseling space to feel support 24/7. The studio provides a more holistic experience and we give the opportunity for clients to achieve optimal health. We host integral mindfulness events to support the community as well as educational workshops to ensure a well-rounded experience. The studios are located in Illinois and Colorado (Denver, Frisco, and Chicago) with goals to keep expanding. I think the collaboration of multiple modalities and locations sets us apart from other practices and initiates a challenge as well. The journey toward expansion has been interesting as each community operates very differently. We’ve found success in recruiting clinicians and teachers who see the Namasport vision through and through with goals to grow with us. I couldn’t imagine life without the purpose to be a part of mental health as it evolved and we endure change and adversity in the world.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
An ideal day in Denver usually consists of music, art, sushi, and spending time outside. I’d start off with a coffee walk around Sloan’s Lake, followed by a trip to the Denver Art Museum to visit the Himalayan and Tibetan artifacts, and ending with live music and sushi! (Uchi for sushi)
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family! I come from a long line of entrepreneurs – they have all inspired me to create a space that I can thrive in and help others thrive too
