We had the good fortune of connecting with Steve & Christine Van Diest and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Steve & Christine, what do you attribute your success to?
Empowering People. Giving people the power of their own comfort. At Everpillow by Infinitemoon, we desire to put all the power of your comfort in your hands. Our success is built on your success. We haven’t done a great job unless you’re sleeping well, less pain, no more kinks. We were tired of the sleep industry promising the best night’s sleep for a population who doesn’t look, feel or sleep the same. We all have been created differently and are unique. Some of us are tall, some are short. Some have narrow shoulders and others broad. Some sleep on their side, others on their back and for the crazy ones….All over sleepers. We knew we had to empower the sleeper to customize and adjust their all natural pillow to meet their specific needs and wishes. No one-size-fits all approach, but a one-customize-for-you approach. We made it infinitely customizable and ridiculously comfortable and you perfect it in your home. Empower the unemployable. Yes, we manufacture amazing sleep products but what really makes us successful are the lives changed through our facility. So many feel the lack of power and opportunity because of their past; a felony, an addiction or homelessness has hindered their ability to get ahead. We have always been about helping those who have been marginalized. We are so grateful that Infinitemoon is partnered with Mile High Workshop, a job and life rehabilitation program for those who are unemployable. So we can say that every EverPillow, is cut, sewn, stuffed, packaged and shipped has been about helping someone get a second chance. You can say we are Pillows with a Purpose.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ultimately what sets us apart in business is not how much revenue or profit we make but what will those who have experienced our business, product and leadership say about us at the end. Are we loving others. Are we serving them. And are we helping them grow. This is the core of who we are at Infinitemoon. We dream of a day where people are sleeping healthier, more comfortable, with less pain. We envision a day where those in our community have been touched by our business and feel empowered to advance in their dreams and goals and make a difference in their own family and community. To be honest it might be easier to make money and cut corners if we think just about our bottom line financially. Ultimately we want to sleep at night knowing we made difference in your sleep and in our community. (Yes…pun intended.) There is a new generation of shoppers that are looking for social and ethical companies and products. Consumers are smart and can sniff out the charlatans and those that use social good just for advertising. We believe Infinitemoon is exactly what consumers are looking for. Products with a Purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Colorado…..oh please don’t share the gems we have here. He he. My wife and I ride Indian Motorcycles and so our journey would require you joining us through the twisting mountain roads. We would gear up and get those motors running around Chatfield State Park and head west on Deer Creek Canyon Road up to Confier. You can already feel the cool air and smell the trees as you lean left and right up the mountain. The air is thin, clean and cooler temps are starting to cut through your gear. Pick and choose the numerous coffee shops, diners and bars up and throughout Evergreen, Conifer, Pine and Woodland Park. It doesn’t matter which curvy road you choose as the views are endless and the smells are fresh. We would take a long day through Peak to Peak Hwy and watch the Aspens change in late September and drop into Boulder to drive around the prettiest university in the world (The University of Colorado Boulder) and stop in for a great burger at the Dark Horse. Go Buffs! You might get lucky and even see Ralphie, the 2,000 lb buffalo mascot, running wild through the hills. We would plan 3-4 days and head to the southwest corner of Colorado through Buena Vista (burger at K’s Dairy Delight) and Gunnison and get our blood temps boiling with the scenic views and massive drop offs of the Million Dollar Highway near Ouray, Silverton and Durango. Colorado might provide the best Wind Therapy in the world.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been a few people and organizations who have impacted my journey to social entrepreneurship within Infinitemoon. First are the staff at Bakke Graduate University for challenging me 14 years ago to make a difference in the world through business. Second is my counselor David Donaldson. A wise 84 year old sage who has had a tremendous impact in my thinking, mindset and helping me overcome failures. And third is Stan Bullis, of Unbridled Solutions, who is a constant cheerleader, inspiration and role model to grow business ventures that will and can impact our community and beyond.
