We had the good fortune of connecting with Steve Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Steve, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have run my own business for many years (Williams Tennis School, LLC). As I enter the
3rd set of my coaching career, I wanted to start something else that would glorify God and keep
me busy as I enter a phase of life where I have a bit more free time. Fishing and a youtube channel
seemed like a fun next chapter. I started “Fish on with Coach Steve” on youtube in March of 2024.
I have made 75 full length fishing videos and it has been an absolute blast being a content creator
and trying to grow my audience.

What should our readers know about your business?
As far as my tennis school, I’m most proud of the connections that I have made with my students.
My students know that I genuinely care about them and that they can count on me if they need anything on or off the tennis court. As a content creator with my side gig, I hope my enthusiasm, joy, and excitement for fishing
shows up in my videos and inspires others to explore outdoors and go do what I’m doing. Catch fish and have fun!
We can be good stewards of the environment and take care of these ecosystems and the fish as sportsmen and women.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would probably take them to Horsetooth Reservoir west of Fort Collins! It’s a great fishery loaded with
trout, walleye, and smallmouth bass. I’m guessing there’s a good chance we might hit Rio Grande Mexican
restaurant for some fish tacos and margaritas right there in downtown FOCO. We are so lucky to live in this area.
I have the Poudre, Big Thompson, and St Vrain Rivers right out my door. Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National
Park is 45 minutes from my house. My guess is we would certainly hit those areas!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife and kids are my inspiration every single day. The kids that I coach in my tennis school
are some of my biggest fans as well! My Dad, sister, and brother in law always watch my videos
and encourage me to keep going!
