We had the good fortune of connecting with Susan Corriere and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Susan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After years of helping my husband grow his Real Estate Business, I felt it was time for some personal growth and development. As a seasoned professional with a diverse career spanning the travel, wine, and real estate industries, I’ve always been passionate about everything I do. I started to think about what would make my tail wag! Well, along with owning our house in Parker, we also own a cabin in Breckenridge that I Short Term Rent and manage. This got me thinking about how I could combine my two passions for travel and real estate. I had an idea of collecting rentals where my husband and I would like to travel to and help others do the same. Having an eye for marketing and branding I quickly got my real estate license and began researching brands for The Traveling Realtor. I quickly found that “The Traveling Realtor” was already taken. As I researched I came to find out she was also a Business Coach and taught a unique method of real estate called “Arbitrage”. This is a method of real estate where you find Land Lords who will let you rent their homes for a year or so and then allow you to sublease them out to others for 30,60, 90+ days, fully furnished with all utilities paid. Within 1 month of finishing “The Halo Method Arbitrage System” by Amanda, I signed 2 leases, had 2 homes, I furnished both houses and had them rented all in one month! I then began getting calls from home owners asking me questions about what I was doing and how. I then started helping Landlords market their homes. I had realtors calling me that had homes they wanted to rent out and loved what I was doing. They quickly wanted to do the same and eventually joined our Corriere Real Estate Team. By 6 months I had 7 homes.

Being in this industry for 2 1/2 years It has evolved into a business that helps people who are relocating into the area. We help them buy a house while they live like a local in one of our Cozy Temporary Rentals. We work with insurance companies who help families that have been displaced due to damage in their homes. Instead of staying in a cramped hotel they can stay in one of my Cozy Rentals and guess what? It’s less expensive.

I see people trying to do this on their own and without the increase of constant knowledge and education, it is definitely not advised. My job is not only to take a 5 star approach to my guests comfort & happiness but to keep my landlords as happy as possible as well. After every guest leaves I have each house cleaned and detailed by my trained cleaning staff. I have my Assistant Ashley go in and make sure everything gets washed, beds are made correctly and its to the Cozy Colorado Furnished Rental standard. I then go in for a 3rd inspection and see how I can update the look and design every time.

I love what I do and love learning more as the industry evolves. I look forward to eventually owning more properties and helping others do the same!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In my 20’s I was a young single mother who had nothing to lose but everything to gain. I always followed my passion and when I did that I always found success! I was in the Travel Industry for 15 years from a Flight attendant, Travel Agent, Sales Rep for the State of Colorado at MLT Vacations, Student Express Travel and eventually I opened my Own Wine Store “Vinos Del Mundo” in Castle Pines Colorado. When people procrastinate, they hesitate to move forward. Lifes too short not to make a move even if you’re scared. You will learn as you go. You’ll always make mistakes but now you know not to make the same mistake twice but you acted on it and now you DID IT! I’m a DOER! I know I can make my husband nervous but he’s also the one that encourages me to keep going.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My husband and I do these silly little Short Videos titled “Where Are We” . Every where we go whether its a restaurant or concert, I say “Jason, Where are we?” and then we take a few pictures and videos and share on our Social Media. We get people engaged because they are guessing where we are. We love hitting all the locally owned bars and restaurants and sharing them online for new people moving into the area or just for locals looking to check something new out. Being a Relocation Specialist I want to be a resource to people.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely want to give a huge shout out to my Mentor and Coach Amanda Williams auther of “The Halo Arbitrage Method” . She is my inspiration to not be afraid of somethin new and to always keep learning! As the industry changes she comes up with other ideas and continuously educates her students.
