We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzie Mack and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Suzie, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Basically, everything starts slow, so yea you’re going to feel unsuccessful or even start questioning why is it you started this & now you want to end it as quickly as you began. DONT, keep going, nothing comes fast & it certainly isn’t going to be easy. Just like life hits you with unexpected lessons, same with a business. The more you put into it the more you learn & regrow.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
So I am currently employed, running an llc & I hustle to do hair to maintain while all being a single mom. My strength, motivation has to merely steam from my child. He sees me & he acknowledges me & he hisself help promotes my products before I do. My co workers from my 9-5 are very supportive & feeds back into my business. Being consistent & having a line of communication with people (networking) wise plays a HUGE role in how successful or how far you are wanting your business to go. My co workers encourages me & make sure I has everything thing done legally & asked me questions/poured out ideas on my material. Feeding into people & having them feed back is the best critic strategy to succeeding. Constructive criticism comes in all forms & i believe with my different groups I have the perfect all around product to help just about everyone. So basically I got where I am today from criticism, struggle(kid), motivation amongst my peers, & listening. My biggest lesson I’ve learned this far has to be being consistent & networking. I just want everyone to know I’ve literally started with nothing & ongn my hair in hs because I couldn’t afford to get my hair done liks the other girls at school, then I progressed to college doing hair, but as I mentioned before my son was my biggest wake up call because after I had him that’s when I took my hobbies serious & wanted to share with everyone else & make them feel good just like my son motivated me to do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start off taking my guest to the zoo. I chose the zoo because who doesn’t want to see exotic animals? I believe it’s one of the great views here at Indianapolis. Then plan the week later out with like the museums art & childrens, most of all sight see throughout downtown. I would definitely show off at the different clubs and show how different ones gives off different vibes. I also would end the week at the parks & recreational due to the outside setting and animals that could be shown off.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I believe my business sisters(group) deserve an appraisal.. if it wasn’t for them I’ll probably be inconsistent & mentally exhausted. “The black ballerinas (owner) & the owner of “TruMu”
