Meet Tahnee Wayne | Artist / Painter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tahnee Wayne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tahnee, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I wouldn’t want to say that having creativity would be a career choice as this is my lifestyle. Since I was young I’ve always been into creating art and communicating in ways I never thought would be possible. I wasn’t much of being the brain in school and continuing to excel in something I believe was a waste of time. I am educated even though it may be different to what people are normally use to. I’m just happy and lucky to have met a lot of awesome talented people as I continue to walk my path with something I’m so passionate about.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would like to think of my art being more on a emotional level. The type that when viewing it, grabs you by the shoulders and pulls you right into a different world. Happy, sad, angry, we all feel it in some shape or form. I like to document those feelings.
I’m very excited for an upcoming series I’m currently brainstorming. I’ve always been fascinated with the darker side of the human brain. It’s where the most emotion is created. I believe that digging deeper and looking into this will help my art have more of a voice and show everyone that the darkness can be enlightening.
There are many lessons I’ve learned throughout the years that I have been creating. Every artist is their own critic, I have to teach myself everyday that not everything is meant to be perfect. That the imperfections can be just as good as anything else I create. I’m learning to create art that I want and not to do something just to please others. That’s a very hard lesson to swallow.
I’m very proud to be where I’m at as a professional artist and being able to create and to continue my passion. I feel like I’ve put a lot into this and finally being able to see the success that is coming my way is all worth the sleepless nights when my brain doesn’t shut off. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my family and friends who continue to support me and my journey, Thank you unconditionally! To the many different artists and great people I’ve met throughout the years, Thank you so much for being wonderful!
To the local scene, gallery owners, organizers, etc who have helped me and others with pursuing our careers and giving us support & advice on how to take what we have and take it further, Thank you very much!
Much love!
