Meet Tennisia L. Broberg

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tennisia L. Broberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tennisia, what matters most to you?
I value the ability to inspire, empower, and encourage others in areas of creativity and art where i can. This matters most to me because i believe if people have a positive outlet they can turn to that in heavy times. The main factor of overcoming hardships and losses in my life was my desire & ability to turn to artistic expression and creativity. My imagination was taken to new levels and that helped me find comfort.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe art comes in many forms. I function in the arenas of beauty, fashion, and entertainment. I am a makeup artist, hairstylist, producer, model mentor, and brand consultant. I got to where i am by hardwork, dedication, and quality outcomes! It was not easy as i have epilepsy, the schedule of a single mother, and life experiences that made things challenging. I had to take each day as i came, do what i could, and keep the faith. There was no other option because i wanted to keep food on the table and show my kids that filling a dream can produce a better life, especially when the achievement helps others excel in one way or another.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hahahaha! I am a home body so this is a challenge. I would take my friend to Cuba Cuba to eat amazing Cuban food, then we would go to the pearl for drinks because it is lgbtq+ friendly, we would visit the art museums and Glendale hot springs… Lastly, we would spend a lot of time in nature exploring! In my perspective DPAC, indoor sky diving, the Santa Fe art district, garden of the gods, and the paint mines are a must do & see!!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shot out goes to my family first because they are me and i am them. Then id like to thank my brother and friend, Leonard Anderson because he is the photographer and friend who has worked brilliantly to capture many of my creative ideas and provide support to my life in ways i will be forever grateful for. He is my T’Challa and i am his Shuri! The universe continues to bless me and i am humbled by every positive opportunity I receive.
