We had the good fortune of connecting with Tommy Schneiders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tommy, why did you pursue a creative career?
It found me. I was an engineer and college football player. Neither went well. With the help of my parents I found animation and soon acting. You can see my newest series at BurdsTV.com.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I fell into animation and soon VoiceOver. I went straight from college to LA knowing that I was going to be the action star version of Seth Macfarlane. To get where I am today took 12 years of consistent DAILY work. Rehearsals, writing, drawing, filming. It never stops nor would I want it to. Finances have been the only challenge and I overcame that by knowing that a life without purpose is a bigger challenge than being a server. And so I waited for opportunity with the preparation to perform at a moment’s notice. And know that I built my brand by having a vision and never dropping good ideas. A crippling fear of death and lost time will help speed up the process a bit as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely use LAX for travel but forget Los Angeles. The charm left decades ago. Now I would say Santa Barbara or San Diego, but honestly try Hawaii or Florida instead.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents Deedee and Jay Schneiders. As well as my siblings: Ellie, Jake, and Charlie.
