We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevor Vogel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trevor, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It’s something that makes me happy and gives me purpose. Being a creative let’s me do what I want and explore the deeper aspects of my mind. It also allows me to spread joy in other people’s life whether it’s through my music or by giving people a safe space to express themselves.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m just proud of where I am today. Pursuing music has allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and bring happiness to people. I started over 11 years ago in Georgia. Before I moved to Denver I worked at a music studio in ATL, which skyrocketed my mixing abilities. After I moved to Denver I started reaching out to other people in the industry and going to a lot more events to network and spread my vision/art. It was definitely not easy, I’m very introverted and an anxious person so talking to strangers freaks me out, but is needed to further my music career. Best way to get other that is to just do it. I hopped in a Facebook edm group and started talking to people and going to events even though it made me uncomfortable. Thanks to that I’ve become part of the leadership team in Denver EDM Friends and have gotten a lot of big gigs within Denver and out of state. Best advice I can give is to just get out there. It may be scary at first but it’s totally worth it and could be just what you need to find the best of friends and to get that gig you’ve been chasing forever

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Id definitely take them to red rocks, even if there isn’t a show. Just taking them to the amphitheater during the day is a wild experience. I also frequent Buena Vista for the hot springs out there. It’s not too far and a crazy beautiful area. Id hope there was a show going on so I can bring them to mission ballroom which I think is one of the best venues. If we are lucky there will be a show at Mishawaka amphitheater which is the absolute best music venue out there. Definitely check that spot out if you haven’t already it is magical. Food is hard to say, I’m poor so I can’t go anywhere fancy, but if I’m on Colfax for an event I always stop at cheba hut, that place slaps. Me and the owner of Denver Edm Friends love sushi so we always hit up this one spot called sushi train….all you can eat sushi for 30$, can’t go wrong with that. The best thing to do however is driving through the mountains. No destination required just hop on the highway and start driving. Some of those roads out there are insanely beautiful.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna shout out Joe Kalicki and Denver edm friends. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today in my music career. It’s thanks to the open decks they throw and all of the events that bring people together and allow for networking that I even have any kind of platform for my music.
