We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Olga Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica Olga, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my first business was a trauma response. Creating and building a way to provide for myself was based off of survival instincts. Investing in myself was what I believed to be my only option. I was 19 years old when I started my first company. Entrepreneurship started at 13 years of age.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Sacred United Nonprofit Organization was established on my brother’s behalf. Giving back was a daily discussion that we had growing up. Serving our community was a promise we made each other as children. His love for the arts was what inspired me in the beginning. He was a competitive dancer that inspired so many young dancers. Dance and music assisted with most of our mental health support. Our mother is paranoid schizophrenic and we created our own support. Our personal power and development was possible because of the positive benefits of movement and sound. Our programs are designed to be what we needed as children.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the nature in Colorado most. We have great restaurants like Los Dos Patrillos, El Paraiso, Namaste and Mizu. I would definitely take friends to Bounce Empire to have drinks and burn off some stream.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Recognizing my brother that passed away two years ago is important to me. He is no longer here to share his heart with us and that is why I continue to represent him in our community. My brother shared his heart and soul with everyone he came across. My brother loved creative expression and entrepreneurial spirit. He taught me to believe in my strengths and abilities. He led by example and showed me how to create something out of nothing. He taught me how to strengthen and develop myself on a daily basis. He created beautiful and inspiring situations for everyone willing to share their talents. Together we created platforms for others to shine. Our community was always included in our efforts. He was always such a force that continues to live through us all.
