We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Hunter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
With the two partners having started their work serving the community as a public defender and prosecutor, we both have a passion for helping outr clients. We aim to provide personalized and effective representative for our clients. By starting our own firm we have the flexibility to represent clients in the best way we can which includes personalized plans for each client based on their needs and working with clients to understand their goals. We wanted to work in an environment that gave us the flexibility to meet our clients needs and still have a work/life balance.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Desai Hunter Law is not just another law firm. We specialize in Criminal Defense and Estate Planning but we also have knowledge in many other aspects of law. As a former public defender I have a lot of experience on what it takes to defend those in the justice system and have a passion for doing so, My partner is a former prosecutor and we have come together to use our skill sets to provide the best representation we can for each of our clients. We are client centered, meaning we look at each client individually and assess their needs. Learning our clients circumstances and their goals is a top priority so that we can effectively represent them through this process. The justice system is not a simple task and learning to navigate it can be hard and confusing, we are there to help and support our clients every step of the way. Though it was not easy getting to where we are now, it has been rewarding.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting Denver I would start with brunch at the Lobby and then a trip to Colorado Springs where we would visit Garden of the Gods. I would take them to a game at Coors Field to see the Rockies play and then dinner at Aloha Thai. I would take a day up the mountains to either hike or ski depending on the time of year. For late night drinks I would head to Garage Bar for some fun darts and drink. Finally I would end the visit with a walk (or fun scooter ride) around Cherry Creek.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would shoutout my family, specifically my mom and grandpa, who have been extremely supportive of me through this journey. They are always there to help me when I am in need and be a shoulder to cry on when things just become overwhelming. It is through their love an support that I have been able to start this Firm alongside my business partner. Knowing that they will always be there for me is what has given me the courage to continue taking risks and branching out.
