We had the good fortune of connecting with Vidia Vuong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vidia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I am always a true fan of beauty. Coming from an Asian country, the bars I set for beauty standards are pretty high. While Colorado at the time was still new to beauty services, I love learning and bringing them to live. Seeing so many women struggling to look for a way to be beautiful and confident. I think I can help them!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business is all about providing beauty services. We offer a wide range of services for lash extensions and semi- permanent makeups. I always find a way learn the best skills, updates, and products to serve my clients at a competitive affordable prices. That’s what I am most proud of.
It’s quite a journey from getting trained and certified by the state to start working and getting my own business running. It’s a commitment for certain! Was it easy? Yes and No. To me, it was easy to be certified by the state. Training was a process and it required a lot of time to practice to master your skills. The hardest part is getting the clients to your door. How do you let your potential clients know that you are the best and they should come to you?! I learnt along the way that the future clients these days don’t come from Yelp and Google as much! They come from social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok…
I have to be honest, this is one of my biggest challenge! Besides being the best in the field, I have to wear so many hats as a small business owner. One of them will be content creator for social media platforms. There is always something new to learn everyday to achieve this task.
At the end, each single client who comes see me will get the results they expect. My business is honest and always put satisfaction first!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I will definitely bring them to either Vail or Aspen to hang out and experience Mountain life. Next stop will be Iron Mountain hot spring. Definitely have to go on at least one hike! I would suggest Hanging lake. Then we gotta come to Denver and Aurora to get experience for food!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I got a huge support from my family, especially my husband. He let me go explore and pursue my dream job. He also gave me feedbacks and technical helps along the way of my entrepreneurial journey.
