Meet Will White | Fashion Designer and Illustrator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Will White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Will, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After trying to “quit” fashion a few times, I realized it was the one thing that I couldn’t truly stay away from. Inspiration was constantly following me and it was then that I knew I had to get serious about starting it as a business for myself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a young(ish) black man with a wife and kids, I realize that my viewpoints are pretty unique, but I allow myself to learn from everyone and everything around me. Sometimes I feel like we are born with talents that only we can wield. I know that if you were to place a pile of fabrics in front of me, I’d create something only I can. Music, dance, art, travel, and nature are all constantly coloring my perspective and that’s why I’m never short on inspiration. To get to this point in my life and career took a lot of trial and error, tons of mistakes, and even more risks. I’ve learned that you truly do have to “start before you’re ready” and that concept has served me exponentially in my life. As a self taught designer, I want the world to know that you can do anything you put your mind to and all you have to do is try hard and give it your best.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Duh, HIKE, haha. Start out small at Mt. Evans though, drive to the top and clear your head. A lot of places have breathtaking architecture….but on this side of the world nature has done such a BEAUTIFUL job of creating some breathtaking moments!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout out ArtPop Street Gallery for all they do for local artists. The gift of exposure has been monumental to myself and my business.
