We had the good fortune of connecting with Witto Goom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Witto, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve just always had a fixation with music and art. I can’t say for sure when or how it started, but as far back as elementary school I remember begging my mom for a guitar. I wanted to be in a band more than anything. I did vocals in a death metal band in high school for a few years and discovered my love for writing original music and being on stage. I decided I was going to make music for the rest of my life, with or without career success, even if no one else listened to it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’d say what sets me apart from others is my sound. I haven’t found anyone making music like mine, I might sound full of myself saying that, but it’s true. Being an artist has its ups and downs, but it’s far from easy. Biggest lesson I’ve learned, and what I want to impart with anyone reading this, is that your hard work can only pay off if you never give up, it’s easy to give up, but that just keep things the same, it won’t get you any closer to making your dreams reality.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My home town isn’t exactly a tourist destination, and If they’re a friend of mine chances are we’re staying in the studio and making music. But if we were to go outside, there is a mountain to climb covered in big trees and populated by cows and birds that’s fun to hike. There’s also a pretty cemetery that’s super peaceful to walk through. Things like that really clear my mind and make me feel connected to myself.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My life partner, Cynni. Since we met, they have been more than supportive and always believe in me and my vision. There isn’t another person like them and I’m grateful everyday to have such a shining example of artistic creativity and integrity in my life. They really are my world.
