We had the good fortune of connecting with Yolanda Kyle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yolanda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted the ability to take my children to school, pick them up from school and attend their activities while also having a career.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started the first waxing salon in my local area. I was one of the first to allow customers to text a business as a means of communication. It was not easy as the idea was unheard of and close family and friends questioned my idea as I had no experience in business prior to this. I do joke that I overcame challenges with blind ambition. I want the world to know that being a mom first while also creating the ability to take care of myself was the catalyst for me opening my business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have had a best friend and family visit from out of state. Dad’s donuts is a good way to start the day. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is definitely a place to go with the kiddos. Tumeric is my favorite Indian restaurant. If at all possible a concert at The Ford Amphitheater and a couple of dive bars where the locals know your name like Cleats or Guthries.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The business I started was unheard of at the time. I had a client following that believed in my idea and some even 15 years later still support me.
