We had the good fortune of connecting with Zinnia Moon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zinnia, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my drive to do what I love and share my music and talents with everyone. Being successful comes down to how bad I want something, and if I will work as hard as I can until I achieve my goal. Feeling confident in my music allows me to have the best performance I can, in hopes to further my career as an artist.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My distinctive vocal tone and energy creates a timeless performance that is beyond my years, and sets me apart from other musicians. My music captivates my audience with my lyrical ability that is prevalent within my songwriting. Old school at heart, I like incorporate exuberant vocal inflections that appeal to today’s pop culture.

Getting to where I am today, was not an easy process, and I have to again, thank my family for helping me. My older sister, Sahara Moon, laid out many footsteps that I was able to follow in as I grew older. She helped me make many connections for myself, and opened up many great opportunities for me. Sahara helped me overcome many of my obstacles, such as writer’s block.

Along the way, I have learned many things like how to speak to a crowd and feel confident in being myself on stage. Throughout Covid, I overcame my fear of going live on social media platforms, which immensely helped me grow my following on many platforms, especially TikTok. From my experience’s, I have learned to not be afraid of what other people think, and just do what I love to do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them to Long Beach Island and go for a beach day. It is only about a 20 minute drive, and it is my favorite place to spend time in the summer. I love to relax on the beach and swim for hours in the ocean. For food, I would bring them to Woodies Drive-In because, I have performed there weekly in the summer for many years now, and it brings back so many memories that I would like to share. Some of the most fun things are to surf in the ocean, go shopping at many cute boutiques, like Firefly Gallery, or go down to the Barnegat Light House and take a walk along the Jetty.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has been the most influential and supportive people, who deserve so much credit for making me the artist I am today. They play a huge role my career by giving me constructive criticism, making me a stronger performer, and my mom specifically, is constantly promoting me, helping me grow my following. My family is very supportive in everything I do, and they encourage me to be the best version of myself. They have helped me make new connections and experience great opportunities, that I wouldn’t have experienced without them.
