We asked some of the city’s rising stars to reflect on what made a difference in their journey. We asked them to tell us about what they think the most important factor has been behind their success.

Always keep learning. You are only as good as the things you know and your willingness to learn the things you don’t. High quality fruit. We are an estate cider company and the largest long standing apple growers in Colorado. I do not have to use starving foraged apples , buy juice from other locations, or use concentrates to make the products. The process of growing apples and cider specific varietals from Branch to Bottle. High elevation grown apples are very hyper expressive in flavor- I am in a very fortunate situation for cider making. I think the most important factor behind my success has been persistence and dedication. Ever since I decided to start my photography business I’ve worked hard and never waited for things to come to me, I’ve gone out and actively worked to find opportunities. Opportunities to help me grow as a photographer, grow as a business owner, and to financially support myself. I’ve always tried to learn more and do more. It helps that I absolutely adore photography, editing, and learning. I’ve never had a job I cared more about or have been more invested in. the most important factor behind the success of my business and brand has been my mindset. The grind, never giving up, and laying a brick everyday. Being willing to compromise! When I started pursuing art, it was purely for me but when I made the pivot to a small business and creating on a larger scale I realized I needed to make work for my audience too. Finding a compromise between personal work and commercial work takes time and commitment but that’s the secret to art that thrives in the market. Read more>>

A significant number of the people who view my photos tell me that my photos make the feel like they are there with me when I take the photo. This seems to make the feel a part of the process of creating the photo. Read more>>

I created the THINK HAPPY STUFF brand in 2006 out of my need for it. I need to be reminded to focus on the positive and to not obsess over what I can not control- which is pretty much everything.
