We were fortunate to catch up with some brilliant artists, creatives and entrepreneurs from throughout the Houston area and they share the wisdom with us below.

I am a retired Personal Trainer and Life Coach, so I have always been naturally drawn to healing and helping others.
My journey into the realm of spiritual guidance began many years ago. From a young age, I felt a deep connection to the unseen world and was often able to sense the presence of spirits around me. This innate ability grew stronger as I matured, and I realized that my calling was to help others by connecting them with their loved ones who had passed on. I began reading Tarot , Studying Energy Healing and giving free Psychic readings about 10 years ago, and it has blossomed from there. Read More>>

I have a couple words that I like to live my life by; compassion, integrity, authenticity and consistency. These personal convictions bleed over to affect all areas of my business. This devotion means that I also value and pursue the success of local businesses. I’ve had many amazing mentors in my life and even if my business outgrows theirs, it never means I outgrow their wisdom. Read More>>

Having worked with kids and adults with developmental disabilites for over 14 years, both indoors(schools) and outdoors(Adventure therapy), I learned what was lacking in the community and after many moments of diving deep within myself, I was able to come up with ways my skills and experience can help the IDD community, including kids, teens, adults, and also parents. Other than deciding to work for myself, the single most important decision I made was learning to trust my own creative voice—especially when it went against convention. For a long time, I thought success meant doing things the “right” way, following formulas or industry trends. But the turning point came when I committed to creating work that felt honest, even if it was slower, riskier, or harder to explain. That decision—choosing authenticity over approval—changed everything. It gave my work a pulse that people connected with, and that connection became the foundation of my success. Read More>>

The most impactful book I’ve read is “You Are A Badass” by Jen Sincero. The ways it has changed my life are immeasurable and I have read it dozens of times. It goes on every trip or vacation, it is weathered, torn, and bent. Each time I read it I mark new phrases and statements that stand out to me – parts that make me laugh or speak to me in that moment. Read More>>

The Creative Act by Rick Rubin is one of the most affirming and liberating books I’ve read. in a while. Rather than prescribing formulas, Rubin speaks to the spiritual and intuitive nature of creativity—reminding us that making art is less about control and more about tuning in. That resonated deeply with my process as a photographer, where patience, presence, and emotional openness are often more powerful than technical mastery. It helped me trust silence, embrace uncertainty, and honor the slower pace of my work. I recommend it to anyone who wants to reconnect with the purpose behind their craft. Read More>>

I remember my grandfather telling me that his favorite part of his job was going home. (He was a lawyer.)
I knew from the time I was very young that I have to love what I’m doing and do it with passion. Now that it’s real life, I see how true this is. You will completely burn out if you don’t love what you do and feel passionate about it. Read More>>

Although I always want to be the “yes” person sometimes I simply have to say no and keep going. Being the “yes” person can be wildly expensive. Read More>>

I was born and raised in Turkey, where I first discovered my passion for the beauty industry. My upbringing instilled in me a strong work ethic, creativity, and the importance of always giving my best. Read More>>
