When it comes to taking photos or videos, it’s hard to narrow my philosophy down to a single principle or value, but I think there’s two I always try to live my life exemplifying. The first is to capture beautiful moments to the best of my ability. It seems like a basic premise that probably most photographers enact in some way, but sometimes I find myself too wrapped up in trying to find the best lighting or arrange the best composition that it’s easy to forget the heart of the image. The principle that matters most to me is simple, love. Love yourself, love others, love life and love it hard. We as humans are here to feel each area of the emotional spectrum. From the lowest of lows, to the highest of highs. In love, we can support others who are going through a dark area of that emotional spectrum. Love is a gift that we all have access to. My most important value right now is finding the happiness in everything, and letting go of the idea of perfection. For a very long time I have struggled with perfectionism.
