We asked some of the most creative folks we know to open up to us about why they chose a creative career path. Check out their responses below.

We met two summers ago as we sat and chatted while our daughters were taking swim lessons at our neighborhood pool. We quickly bonded over motherhood, and our love for crafting and DIY home projects. I received my first camera when I was 10 years old. My Grandfather (whom I’ve never met) was a photographer, my Dad was a hobbiest painter, my Mom is very creative, so it just seemed the right route to go. In High school I studied Commercial art, free hand drawing, screen printing, etc.. In college I studied photography. That’s were my love lies. From a young age, I have always been drawn to the arts. Whether it was painting, drawing, or photography, I found solace in the creative process. However, as I grew older, I began to realize that my passion for the arts could be channeled into a career in the digital marketing industry. I am happy creating. I have managed to keep creating all my life. Early on, I would never think to actually sell my creations and designs, that was a hard step to take. I graduated with a Graphic Design Degree and started contract work as a designer, which became just a job, nothing glamorous like I had envisioned. I started creating and making after work. I had ideas, but never the courage to actually sell them. I played with fiber, fabric, beads, watercolors and finally met the medium that is perfect for me. Read more>>
