We had the good fortune of connecting with Susan Loupee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Susan, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Bringing joy to others makes me happy, it always has. I try to let that be the driving force in my decisions throughout each day.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a Colorado native, I have always enjoyed my time outside. Some of my best memories growing up involve spending time in the garden with my family. Over the years, I ended up working in the horticulture industry, hospitality, and even picked up a part-time job in events. I’m grateful that the lightbulb finally turned on when I realized my real passion resides in floral design! I decided to name my company Lil’ Bug Floral, because my parents nicknamed me Lil’ Bug growing up. They introduced me to my love of flowers, so I like giving the credit to them!
I really enjoy being able to brighten people’s day by doing what I love.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would certainly show off all of the natural beauty Colorado has to offer! One of my favorite things to do in our state is ski. I grew up on skis with my family and have been able to share my love for it with my husband and our oldest daughter…so far! Hopefully we’ll get our youngest one up and cruising after she learns how to walk. Beaver Creek would be at the top of my list for areas to go. There is a ton of slope variety and you’re greeted with a warm chocolate chip cookie at the bottom of the hill at the end of the day. The views are pretty impeccable too!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My sweet and supportive husband, Kyle, deserves so much of my gratitude! He gives me the ability to balance my life as a mother and a florist. Even after his long shifts at the fire department, he comes home ready to wrangle our busy little girls and gives me the opportunity to get to work in my studio.
