Meet Gabbi Swan | Photographer & stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabbi Swan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gabbi, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I feel very blessed to have been born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! I went to one of the most diverse high schools in the country and had the opportunity to make life long friends with some amazing people. Being in an area of such diversity and culture has really shaped who I am, how I act and what I believe & stand for. My brand is based around inclusivity! We welcome and encourage inquiries from all races, religions, sexual preferences, etc. This world is filled with so many beautiful and unique individuals and it has been such an honor to embrace & empower every single person I’ve had the opportunity to work with.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a professional photographer & stylist focusing on elopements, marketing for small businesses & lifestyle portraiture.
I think that being a stylist is really what has set me apart in my photography career. I don’t have a set style- I find inspiration in working with people who challenge me to put my own twist on their personal aesthetic!
My career has been challenging and I hope that never goes away because that’s definitely where I feel the most of my growth coming from.
I hosted my first Styled Content Day in March and while it was stressful and definitely a risk, it turned out to be one of the most rewarding parts of my career thus far! I look forward to hosting many more.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my best friends is actually coming to visit me from the East Coast very soon! We both love being outdoors and lucky for me, she’s not shy in front of the camera.
I’m looking forward to taking her to the Sand Dunes, hot springs and my favorite little town, Georgetown! We will definitely check out some live music and happy hour spots as well. Historians is a fun little bar on Broadway that’s always great for a couple rooftop cocktails and they have amazing specials!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shoutout all of the amazing women in a Facebook group I am a part of called ‘Women Networking in Photography’. I have been in Colorado for just under 3 years, so being able to find a group of people in a new place that are about ‘Community’ over ‘Competition’ has been so incredibly helpful. We are a group of women including photographers, hair and makeup artists and models. We share our work, ask for advice, recommend locations and anything else you really need! They have helped me grow my business in this new state and I am so forever grateful!
