Meet Brittney Kichty | Spiritual Macrame Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Kichty and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittney, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking is essential for growth. If you never step out of your comfort zone, you will never know what’s on the other side. I’d say in the last three years I have been making a conscious effort to take risks, in both my personal and professional life, and I’m really proud and grateful that I’ve done so. Through taking risks, I have made friendships that have cultivated into absolutely wonderful relationships. I would have never in the past walked up to another woman, basically give them my number and ask to hang out because they seem like my vibe, but by taking that risk and just doing it, I have created a. circle of empowering, strong, beautiful, and supportive woman. I’ve also made career changes that align more with my Higher Self, which has resulted in a much more happy, and even confident me. I used to be so miserable working. in corporate America, and my frequency was so low, taking that major risk, to just leave it all, was very intimidating but also, the best thing to happen to me! Those risks taken allow yourself to see what you are truly capable of, and that on the other side of your comfort zone, and fear can be success and happiness.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My story can be a little weird to a lot of people, and that’s totally okay! But here it is! I always been a healer, of some sort, and I hadn’t realized this until I started going deeper into my spirituality. I have a gift of healing, and I wanted to use it, through my creativity, because that’s when I’m most happy and most myself. Crystal’s, energy, and essential oils are three holistic ways of healing, aligning, charging, and cleansing our mind, body, and souls. How can I harness all three things into an object to make, and provide for others?? MACRAME! I absolutely love doing macrame, it sends me into a trance I just let myself fully submerge into that. My process for making my pieces are to first go into a meditative state of mind, and connect with the Divine to help guide me into what energy needs to be put in my current project, I then take that energy and stay in that meditative state while creating my art. Once I’m done with the cords I then pick out the crystals I want to be incorporated in the, sometimes it’s none, sometimes it’s several. In order to pick what crystal I want added, I weigh in the properties that are held within each stone. For example, Rose Quartz is all about love, self-love, emotional healing, and trust, while Amethyst is used for protection, inner peace, and communication, After the stones are picked, I decide. what oil I should use to douse the cords in. I pick from seven different blends, each one pertains to a different chakra and the aid of healing, aligning, and balancing them. This again, I will choose from one, to all seven. of them on one piece. After the oils have been added, I do a final blessing on them, while burning Palo Santo nearby. I put a. lot of time and energy into my work, and I just want my supporters to feel that when they are in the presence of my art.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh ok, this is fun! Well I’m currently staying in a beautiful mountain town, with so much to offer, so obviously, we’d spend a majority of their trip here! I love being outside, being grounded, receiving some vitamin d, and breathing in. some fresh air, especially that mountain air…if you can breathe at 10k miles above sea level lol. We would definitely have to hit up Cheeba Hut in Denver, and Beaujo’s in Idaho Springs. I’d also plan a mini trip tp Buena Vista, so we could go to the hot springs there! It’s so magical, especially at night! A day trip to Twin Lakes for some paddle boarding! And I mean, I’d totally be down to check out Meow Wolf, I haven’t yet, but let’s go!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout will forever be my mom. She is my biggest cheerleader, and always supports me in any way that she can, from the smallest things, to the big ones. She knows just what to say when I feel lost, overwhelmed, or stuck, and I’m grateful for that. She is someone I can go to, no matter what, and look to for inspiration.
