We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Schoenbaum and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
I am currently working as a part-time photographer with my own small business. The end goal of my career would be to be a professional wedding photographer. I love couple shoots, which are the current focus of my career, it is so special to capture the love between two people. As a couples photographer, you capture a connection through a camera lens that creates memories to last a lifetime. To do the same for a couple’s wedding is where I want to be professionally by the end of my career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a photographer. I work mostly with couples, as I work towards my dream of being a wedding photographer, but I also do family shoots, engagements, portraits, and senior pictures. My style for photography is a very modern yet classic take on photography. I keep my photos light and airy to keep my photography fresh, but also golden vintage as it is very important to me for my photos to feel timeless.

As a photographer is hard to stay true to yourself, as it is a business that is run by the client. But, it is important for photographers to commit to their brand, clients pick you because they love what you do. It is a lesson every photographer must learn, and the best advice I could give. Staying loyal to my brand is staying loyal to the promises I give my clients, to capture their sweet moments and love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Grand Junction is a beautiful town, especially in the nature. This can be seen in many of my photos while I love to shoot in the beautiful spots around the city such as the monument and the mesa, two places in Grand Junction that are a must-see. This is a town that prides itself on its hiking trails and biking.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friends and family for encouraging me to take this step to begin my own business and my community for supporting me and believing in my work as they choose me to capture their sweet moments.
