We had the good fortune of connecting with Casper Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Casper, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always been business minded since a kid. I remember asking to sell my toys at my neighbor’s garage sales. Fast forward to the beginning of Covid and being let go from my day job. At that point, I knew I needed to go all in, so I had more control over my destiny. So I thought about all the things I’d done over the years and ways to monetize them.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I think my resilience and my work ethic sets me apart from most people. I don’t give up on what I believe in. I’m really proud of how people took to Love Myself Clothing. Just knowing I’m spreading self-love, makes me happy, Whether it’s when the person wearing it puts it on and has that reminder or when someone sees a person wearing the brand and gets that reminder. That’s what it’s about. I’ve been able to grow my brands to the point where I can be full time. It’s not easy, but life isn’t easy. I just try to work on something that helps my goals everyday. Any challenge, I just look for the solution instead of dwelling in the problem. I’m steady learning to keep learning. It’s easy to be educated and feel like a know it all, but there’s so much information out here you just need to be open minded. I have 7 brands: CHISongwriter, The Jingle Firm, Casper Consulting, Project 803, Love Myself Clothing, & Eye Heart 2 Clothing. The stories all tie to 3 common principles: Self Love, Self Awareness, and Creativity.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d have to give 100% credit to my mother, Kareen Alexander. She took me in at 4 months old and adopted at 7 years old. She gave me unconditional love, taught me to go for what I want, and always believed in me.
