We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Daniels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success would have to be consistency. I have been running and raising awareness for COPD since early 2013 and when I made it my mission to be the voice for the people that don’t have one I went all in. Just like many things in life if you go after it with everything you have you will succeed and from the beginning I knew this was something that I wanted to do for my dad. At times it has gotten very tough of course but I knew that in the beginning and made sure to keep pushing forward and doing what I needed to do because my toughest days were nearly as tough of what they were going through.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I am not running on my own I am a High School Track and Cross Country Coach for Randolph Eastern Schools.

I am also a Child and Family Advocate/Forensic Interviewer for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Randolph County where my job is to make sure that kids are protected and they have the resources they need to help them get through whatever they are going through if they have been abused or exposed to other crimes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I am taking my friends on a vacation or to my favorite spot it would have to be to Las Vegas. I have always been a person that likes the big city and what there is to do there for fun. Las Vegas has always been a place that no matter what time it is there is something to do and people to talk to.
During the day we would head to the pools around the hotel or walk around and check out the many places that Las Vegas offers then at night we would be going to the casino to hopefully win big or at least have fun while we are playing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have some of the best companies with me on my journey!

The COPD Foundation because they are the people that continue to work on getting new treatment and providing new resources for their patients.
Newton Running shoes has been with me from the beginning and has made sure that I have had the shoes to get me to the finish line no matter where I am running.
SaltStick has been a huge add on this year because after using their products over the last couple of years they have made it easier with their new flavors that I can use while running.
