We are so inspired by the businesses in our community because of how many of them are committed to helping to make the world better than it is today. Check out some great businesses below and how they are helping others.
Terri Murphy and Claire Alfus | Co-founders, Hestia Field Farm
At Hestia Field Farm, our focus is on building a self-sustaining ecosystem. This ecosystem stores carbon while providing food and healing to the land, creating a space to breathe within an urban landscape. We raise and sell grass-fed beef and lamb, as well as fiber free from any synthetic herbicides, pesticides, and antibiotics. We upcycle products from other food streams (organic grocery stores, local breweries, woodchips from tree services), turning other peoples’ cast-offs into nutrient dense food. We feed the bees, the soil, the animals, the wildlife, ourselves, the community – we feed everything. Read more>>

Additionally trails can often be a huge economic driver for communities and their businesses while keeping land in the public trust. Read more>>

Kelly Parks Snider | activist artist
As an artist, I explore contemporary social issues. With words and art I attempt to create awareness and generate change. I am interested in examining how contemporary social, political, and cultural issues are viewed and discussed and, through my art, find a way of creating imaginative dialog that is more expansive. Art grabs and focuses our attention. It can invite us to ask questions about the world that surrounds us. I think that it has something to do with the brief stillness we experience when we focus on a piece of art. That brief moment is like a prayer–a space allowing us to put aside the chaos of our lives and attend to our most inner thoughts and feelings. Read more>>
Federica Fogli | Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
As a veterinarian, every day we try to make an impact on people and their pets. Ranging from wildlife and benefitting the ecosystem to domesticated pets, most of our day is lived in the constant attempt to save lives and improve their wellbeing. Veterinary medicine, however, is not care of the animal alone but care of their owners too. As vets we are doctors, scientists, educators and occasionally therapists too. Read more>>
