We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Bibler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katie, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’ve always loved vintage items- home decor and clothes (I wore an altered version of my mother’s wedding dress)- and enjoyed the hunt. I think any secondhand shopping is fantastic; it’s good for our wallets and for the environment. So when I found my own vintage Louis Vuitton, I thought, why not do this for others? I enjoyed it and it was fulfilling. And I am able to give part of my proceeds to charity.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I find vintage luxury bags (Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Celine, etc.) that need a polishing up. I call it “giving TLC”. This is a process; there are repeated steps of cleaning, conditioning, and polishing hardware, until I am satisfied. These vintage bags were made SO well, they are meant to last a lifetime, it only makes sense that they should be given a second life! It has been time consuming, and there have been some tough lessons learned. Some things you can only learn through experience! What I hope sets me apart are the pillars of my business I’ve displayed on my Instagram page: transparency, authenticity, charity, and re-love!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely go to dinner at Angelo’s Taverna, and while we waited for a table we would enjoy a glass of wine at the Carboy tasting room next door! I’d also take my friend on a long walk in Daniel’s Park so she can enjoy the scenery and fresh air. Maybe even see a buffalo! I’d also love to hop around the vintage and resale stores together- like reZENed, Garage Sale Vintage, and Turnstyle Consignment. Another fun dinner spot would be Blue Oyster Grill, it’s got such a cool atmosphere. It would be fun to spend the afternoon at Breckenridge Brewery, especially on the days they have live music and local vendors outside! There’s a lot to do here.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to “shout out” to my cousin Greer! She is in marketing and helped me decide on my business name and logo. She was super supportive and enthusiastic from day 1. I was able to thank her with a beautiful vintage Louis Vuitton coin pouch I found!
