We had the good fortune of connecting with Tony Aug and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tony, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Generally speaking, we take an entrepreneurial approach to everything. Whether that’s creating companies or companies inside of companies or pitching corporates to hire us, the bias is to solving hard problems through the creation of something new.

In this instance, consulting was initially the “thing I’d do until I figured out what I wanted to do next.” And then it turned out that it was a super fun and challenging.

As we worked with clients early on, we reached out to some amazing former colleagues to see if they were interested in joining.

It was through this process that Nimble Gravity transitioned from lifestyle business to business business.

It’s been really exciting to see our company grow and evolve, the result of dedication to delivering great results for our incredible clients working with a team of great people.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
While many consulting firms focus solely on strategy or execution, we have been deliberate about ensuring that we’re covering both, to have a strategy grounded in what can be executed and that we’re executing something with a sound strategy.

Our customers are the center of our existence, and we take the time to truly get to know them and understand their specific needs and what makes their particular industry or vertical “tick.”

While we bring our own unique experiences and scar tissue to the table, we understand that every company and situation is unique and that what worked in a previous scenario may not be appropriate — but can help inform what is.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Part of the beauty of Denver and Colorado is that there are so many options as to make this an incredibly difficult question to answer. Depending on someone’s interests and time availability certainly looking to the great outdoors would be high on the list.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big shout out to Vin Melvin, who has had a tremendous impact on my career as a boss and mentor.

While I’ve had the pleasure of working for or with Vin for 15+ years at a couple of different companies where he was CIO, it was the first 5 years that had the greatest impact on me.

If there’s a list of characteristics of great leadership, he’s checked the list — while also being both technically- and business-astute.

Much of my own leadership style comes from things that I observed in and learned from Vin.
