Meet Michael Seib | Visual artist and musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Seib and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We only live once, and I don’t want to regret never achieving any of my dreams if I make it to old age. I’v known ever since I was a kid that my journey in life will always be creative, so in the hierarchy of being why not maximize my exposure and see how far I can go? I believe it’s up to us to give our lives meaning and my goal of creating something new that has never been seen before does just that. Waking up everyday just to make money would never be enough for me; however, I want the intellectual satisfaction of monetary success in a competitive field. The subjective nature of art makes excellence and success a little harder to define, but if I can become become financially independent and free to create at all times, then that would be a great metric for my personal success.
I admire excellent athletes and virtuosi at the peaks of their fields; however, the people I truly admire like author Cormac McCarthy, Jimi Hendrix, Salvador Dali and Alexander McQueen not only played the game well, but changed and redefined the game. Making a strong, bold statement with my Sivorca dreamscape style might be a solid first step towards realizing a singular vision.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me part is the Sivorca style: Ornamental fragments from mixed visual media of mine turned into layered, sculptured landscapes and portraits. I want to tell a story while keeping elements of mystery. I love when clients ask about the backstory of a given piece. I arrived at this because I didn’t want just one focal center or a purely abstract feel. Elements may be representational, just evocative or abstract. In addition to images that just hit me upside the head sometimes, my work is inspired by disected and reimagined pieces of AI art I have generated as well. In a way I’m going backwards: I’m using new technology just to make building blocks and generate ideas rather than final products.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I haven’t lived in Wyoming for long but the area has a lot of fun things to do if you enjoy the outdoors. We would tour all the shops and restaurants in downtown Cody like Timmer Gallery and the famous Irma’s Restaurant and Hotel, all the while observing the local murals and public sculptures. Days would be spent fishing, horseback riding and taking pictures of all the flora and fauna.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and extended family have helped me through several moves and some rough times with stalker girlfriends, low-paying jobs and addiction. They believed in me even when I was at low points once in a while over the years. Now that I have vanquished a few demons and can devote more time to art and socializing with other artists, they are noticing a prolific and consistent artistic output, Although I can’t speak about it too much, I have to give credit to my amazing friends at AA and NA. They helped save my life and art.
