We had the good fortune of connecting with Senor Trash!? and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Senor, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks is one of the most important aspects of living life as an artist and living life as a human. My entire career has been about creating what I want first and finding how to perfect it later. I think that that’s what makes the most unique art. Doing what speaks to you personally regardless of outside perceptions or possibility of failure.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Visual art has always been a primary focus throughout my life. Although my focuses are primarily on black and white ink illustrations, I also find acrylic and gouache paintings as a good opportunity to utilize color and different subject matter. The lessons have come with their challenges throughout my career, but each time finding what makes me most passionate and continuing with that has only led me to better and more fulfilling experiences.
Senor trash is a personification of imperfection and pure creativity in my mind. The creative genius that lives in us all but is too afraid to show their face.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver has a lot to offer for most anyone. Definitely visiting the Denver Art Museum and the Santa Fe District during the day and finishing the evening off at X Bar on colfax for good drinks and a nice crowd.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to the creative friends I’ve fostered over the years but most importantly my close friend Jessa Sargent, also known as Ragdoll. With her, we founded the Voltaire Collective. A performance and visual art based group that focuses on some of Denver’s most talented up and coming artists and it’s established and new performers.
