We had the good fortune of connecting with Issac Roybal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Issac, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?

While being committed to a band is important, it is equally crucial to strike a balance between our personal relationships and our aspirations. As a band we prioritize nurturing and maintaining friendships, even if it means making compromises or adjustments to accommodate the needs and commitments of each oystas personal lives.

By prioritizing each other over our band, we hope to demonstrate empathy, respect, and care for the people who support us outside of our musical pursuits. It helps create a foundation of trust, open communication, and mutual support, which can ultimately enhance our personal and artistic growth.

Of course, it’s important to find a healthy balance between our band and our friendships, as both aspects of our lives are what keep us in the loop and contribute to our overall happiness. It may require open conversations, understanding, and finding compromises that work for everyone involved. Ultimately, prioritizing each other over our band can strengthen our relationships and contribute positively to our journey as musicians.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We love to make music inspired by all of our own influences, just like every other band does! We try not to distinguish ourselves as one single sub genre of rock/alternative music because we want to make all types of music. We are proud of ourselves because we have stuck with each other for 12+ years and continue to do so.. Because of the brotherhood like relationship, we have it easy when it comes to writing. When Issac and Zack joined RMO back in 2021, neither had even played an instrument and this was a big road block that took time, but learning while being in a band made the learning process go a lot quicker than we had anticipated. The biggest thing that we have learned so far is that engaging with your audience is a the most important thing to do because they are supporting you and contributing to your project. And another lesson we have learned is that playing DIY spots is so much better than playing at a venue that charges $25 to see local bands.. SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC!!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you are a music lover from Denver, we are going to D3 arts and seventh circle. If you are a music lover from Fort Collins, we are going to House of Dead and the Front range Fury garage, and if you are from Colorado Springs, we are going to Dog House or Black Sheep. Each spot has its regulars, and everyone is welcome to rock.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It is so hard to even attempt to answer this question because of the amazing people we have met along our time as musicians. But one band called Undissassembled will forever be our best friends because of the unmatched kindness of everyone in the band and their constant support through the early days of RMO. Words can’t describe how thankful we are for all of you. Eddie, Jackson, Joe and Tyler, we love y’all forever❤️

We are beyond thankful for the DIY music scene in Denver, Colorado venues like Seventh Circle and D3 Arts continue to give bands a place to play and allows absolutely NO bullshit, including racism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. Because of this, concert goers receive positive and nonjudgmental crowds of amazing people. The community runs on the support of everyone involved that’s what makes it feel so special to so many. Three big contributors to the Denver music scene are Lala from D3 and Adam Croft from seventh/convulse records, and Lie Brooks out of Dog House in CSCO. Thank you all so very very much.

A shout out to Polish, FLAK, Destiny Bond, Interpretive Tyranny, Smear Campaign, Jivebomb, Dead On A Sunday, Watching People Drown, Sewerslide, Meshes, 10TTC, Chainmace, Yambag, Truck Pussy, SITM.

we are super exited to see what the future holds for a band called anti-formula from Co. We are beyond excited because we have seen this band since some of the earliest shows. And each time they play they blow our minds with the passion and the constant progress they make every time we see them.
