We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian McGuire and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born and raised in Northern California and grew up in the lower to middle class. I came from a very standardized American diet and was unmotivated to experience foods that were out of my comfort zone (to put it bluntly I was a picky eater).
I entered my career after college in the food industry. Then proceeded to continue my career in food for over 3 decades. I’ve been lucky enough to be associated with premium products and brands. I started by selling store-store to being a President/CEO of multimillion-dollar companies.
Now, I am happy to say that I am no longer a picky eater, and have a passion for the world’s unique favors.
What should our readers know about your business?
One of my biggest accomplishments in business was starting/manufacturing the Starbuck Cakepop. That was a creation that I was extremely proud of. My success was not easy and it took a team of people to oversee the project.
I use my professional experience to help me in creating our innovative new business,
DeLo xx fondue. I’ve learned that the success of a business takes a team of committed individuals that trust and appreciate each other.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve been to all but 3 (active) MLB baseball parks, and Coors Field ranks 7th for me even if it is one of the oldest parks out there. Start your day trip by walking the statium, having a Rookie Dog and BlueMoon at the brewery. Also, head up to the roof top bar for a Rookie Mountain view. You can also notice the 5280 seat line that is in purple to mark a mile high!
Promptly after, I would visit Denver Beer CO or Great Divide. In my personal opinion, they are the top IPA breweries in downtown.
After a cold beer, you can stop at some local Denver bars like Don’s, Horseshoe Lounge, (or for a little more hip) Happy Camper to meet people. They are great areas to drink, play games, and enjoy the Denver ambiance.
After being in dessert my whole life, you need to try D-Bar. They are renowned for their unique dessert flavors. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, try out the Inventing Room, they have the coolest (no pun intended) dry-ice dessert creations out there. However, if you are feeling ice cream you can never go wrong with Bonnie Brae or Little Man Ice Cream.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I was lucky enough to start my career with some of the largest retail brands in the world. It gave me the ability to anylize business, products, and consumers to a degree that is rare for many. If i were to credit an idividual for my sucess in the food industry, it would be the customer. I’ve been heavily focused on solutions, innovation, and driving engagement. Truly the only way to be successful in this is when customers are willing to share their experiences with you and the world. Since my career went towards innovating products, the people that really made my life a sucess were the people that were able to manufacually scale products to hundreds of millions of other potenial clientele.
