Meet Ella Redding | Social Media Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ella Redding and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ella, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
I started my personal brand as a content creator in high school. Time and time again, my desire to make this my career was sort of brushed off by adults. I was told that my dreams were simply not realistic. How did I expect to never work for someone else? Well, through years of trial and error, I figured that out. I learned that no matter how unreachable my goals are to other people, it doesn’t mean that I can’t prove them wrong. If there is a will, there will be a way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like to think that my social media pages put out a realistic vibe, and allow those who follow me to really connect with me on a personal level. Getting to the point where I felt comfortable with what I was doing was difficult for a few reasons; the first being I was still in high school. People have opinions, especially teenagers! While it seems easier said than done, I truly had to put myself and my future above my high school reputation. One thing I want anyone out there that wants to start content creation to know is that people might have opinions at first, but it is always worth it to push through that. Think about what you will come out with on the other side. Just start, and do whatever it is you want to do. Another difficult part of being a content creator is comparing yourself to other creators, especially at the beginning. The way that I overcame this was realizing that my pages may look different that other creators, but that doesn’t make them better or worse. Everyone is different, and that’s the beauty of social media.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a Wisconsinite, I would have to take them to a Brewer or Bucks game! I’ve visited a few big cities in my lifetime, but I have to say Milwaukee is my favorite. There is something for everyone there, between restaurants and little shops, to the museum and zoo. And of course, Lake Michigan is a must when visiting Wisconsin.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The reason I am where I am today is because of those who had the courage to pave the path before me. From Jake and Logan Paul who caught my attention with their daily vlogs way back in middle school, to those who have done the research and shared how to make content creation a career. Additionally, I’d like to thank my parents for allowing me to begin this journey, although it may have been a little nerve racking to allow your young daughter to post on the internet.
