Meet Craig Tomanini | Founder & CEO of ASKCRAIGTEE, Inc / The Technology Business Coach™

We had the good fortune of connecting with Craig Tomanini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Craig, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am originally from Worcester, Mass. I grew up in a fairly large city in a mostly Italian culture based neighborhood. I was raised by a single mother who worked at least 2 jobs at any given time sometimes 3 in order to make ends meet. My mother and I had an incredible relationship and she was a huge impact to me becoming the person I am now regarding character and business. I use the past tense when speaking about her as she lost her battle with Cancer in 2014.

When I was 13 years old I remember this one time when I asked her for $20 so I could go to the movies with my friends and she was quick to remind me of how we could not afford those extras. I was upset but in the same moment she said 3 things to me that I now often speak about as my keynote talk…she said, Do not make excuses because there is always a way and there is never an excuse, be 100% present in whatever you are doing, and always do what you say you are going to do that there is nothing more important than your word. In that moment I thought to myself how then could I come up with $20 fast to get what I wanted?

I walked down the street to a newly opened touch free car wash and offered to wipe cars for tips. I made $80 that day and went back everyday after that. My first business by all definition was successful and I did not even have a name for it. The impact of who I am today was molded in moments like this one and I have always been committed to honoring my mother for those lessons and words of wisdom when I was a young man.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
ASKCRAIGTEE, Inc is a Business Education Services Organization, the first organization of its type. We are dedicated to Educating, Equipping & Empowering Business Owners to take back control of their companies through the transference of knowledge.

We are experts in understanding how your business works from a process perspective in order to find opportunities for operational efficiencies. Where possible we also bring decades of experience in implementing technology solutions into those areas with the primary goal being to streamline business processes through the use of a proven methodology.

We are unique because we do one thing that NO other business does, which is we strive to accomplish collaboration over competition in every business relationship. We also deploy the philosophy of never saying no to our clients…several years ago I was speaking to one of my clients and they asked if we could do something for them and even though it was not in our offerings at the time I said yes and that opened up a new deal for the company that probably would not have happened if we had said no instead.

Running this business has not been easy by any means, I had to juggle a full time job while I began building this business so sacrifice was deep and personal especially when it comes to family time. But the real hard part for me has always been the overwhelming desire to run the company exclusively and realizing that in order to scale I would need to hire others to be a part of the team and that would mean elongating my timeline to being able to leave my job when I wanted to.

I have learned that leadership is the most important thing, and now that we have a team I need to stand out of the way and let them do what I have brought them on to do. While it has not been easy it has certainly been worth it.

ASKCRAIGTEE, Inc. is more than just a brand but the uniqueness of the brand is that we are is indicated in our tagline ” A Business Built on Faith” while this can mean different things for others, we boldly proclaim Jesus as our Savior and therefore, God is really in charge of the daily operations of the business. We spend a fair amount of our time listening to what He has to say about what we should do next. While this is not always everyone’s cup of tea what people need to understand is because we operate this way, you can expect our values and principles to be aligned with scripture, however we do not ever intend to push our beliefs on others. We believe the mission of ASKCRAIGTEE, Inc is to operate and conduct ourselves in a Christlike Manner so those we interact with see Him and not us when we are working together.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I’ve always been passionate about hiking and camping, using these moments to hone my survival skills and immerse myself in the tranquility of the natural world. While the Manitou Springs Incline is particularly popular among health and fitness aficionados due to its challenging nature, it’s not just about the physical test. As you make your ascent, you’re surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the landscape, making every step a rewarding experience in itself. For those who appreciate the serene beauty of the outdoors and a challenge that pushes your limits, this incline is a mesmerizing journey. Whether it’s the challenging incline or the peaceful campgrounds near Bear Creek, both offer a beautiful experience of Colorado’s majestic outdoors

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In the tapestry of my life, one thread shines with an unwavering and luminous glow—my mother, Wanita Tomanini (1944-2014). Born in an era of transformations and challenges, Wanita embodied resilience, grace, and indomitable spirit. Her stories, filled with lessons from a time both simpler and tougher, have always been my anchor, reminding me of the lineage of strength from which I come.

Every curve of my journey, every decision I’ve made, carries the essence of the lessons she imparted. Her laughter was my favorite symphony, her wisdom my guiding star, and her love my constant backdrop. In the face of adversity, she stood tall, teaching me that challenges are but stepping stones to personal growth. In moments of joy, she reveled, instilling in me a love for life’s little pleasures.

Her memory is like the warmest blanket on the coldest day. Even though she is no longer with us, I feel her presence in every sunrise I witness, every soft whisper of the wind, and every melody of life. Today, as I find myself in the limelight, it’s her lessons and love that shine through me. To honor Wanita is to honor a legacy of love, wisdom, and resilience. To my dearest mother, even as the years pass, your spirit remains eternal in my heart, inspiring every step I take.
