We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Conant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Melissa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have worked for myself since I was very young. I enjoy self care, hobbies and traveling, which don’t fit well in the corporate lifestyle. Working for myself, I’m able to control my schedule, as well as drive my income. Which leads to the next big point, unlimited income. While there is security in a regular paycheck, the limit of what my employer will pay for my services does not inspire me to work harder. Knowing the harder I work, the more money I make, inspires me to put the time in.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
From beginning to current day, I have always been a student. There are always opportunities to learn and grow. Whether it is leveling up your production, automating systems to free up time, leveraging profits to grow your business, or attending trainings. Was it easy: It’s not supposed to be easy. Anything worth having is worth working for! I have worked in down markets and hot markets, and the reward of helping people meet their goals is extremely fulfilling.
Overcoming challenges just requires more time spent working IN your business instead of ON your business. Real Estate is one of the highest litigious industries that exists. There is a lot of emotion in residential real estate and a lot of challenges in business to business sales/leases. When dealing with those moments, it is so important to understand what your client needs and hear them. I learned that removing ego from those situations is of the upmost importance so that you can be of service to those whom are depending on you.
I would like the World to know that I am here to serve others and help them hit their goals with any Real Estate transaction. Daily, I work hard for my clients and they can always Expect Results!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friends to Old Town Fort Collins to enjoy lunch at Choice City Butcher & Deli which has the best burgers and beer in town! Then, if they’re the adventurous type we would go hike Horsetooth. If they’re the relaxation crew, we would lay out some towels at Windsor Lake.
I’m a big host, so having grill outs at home is always a must when we have a visitor!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Father is a Developer, his Father and his Grandfather were also Devlelopers. Watching the way they worked for their clients and family inspired me to follow in their footsteps and help people in my own way, yet in the same industry. Lets face it, we have all worked with a Realtor that we didn’t like. They either didn’t listen, or they just enjoyed collecting a commission without seeming to do any work. I wanted to change that experience for individuals whom are buying or selling Real Estate. Commercial, Farm and Land, Horse Properties, Development Opportunities, and Residential, I work in all forms of Real Estate and am licensed in multiple States.
