Meet Reese Baird | Outdoor Photographer & Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Reese Baird and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Reese, why did you pursue a creative career?
I knew I had to make a difference in this World and being creative is one of the ways I can leave a legacy behind and feel truly alive.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I guess the biggest thing for me was I knew I didn’t want to sit at a desk all day and I really wanted to live life for a living. Being outside and exploring the outdoors is something I have always been passionate about. I wanted to combine telling stories with the outdoors. While I am always learning and still have a long way to go I just truly love creating and inspiring others.
I knew it would take a lot of work. But it has been worth it along the way. The places I’ve been and the people I’ve met have made it even more incredible than I ever thought it would be.
I’ve learned I am more capable than I thought and there is always room to work harder. I love creating content that inspires and strikes the full spectrum of emotions within the viewer.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Easy. I am taking them straight to the mountains. Whether its skiing, backpacking or rock climbing I am taking them to some rad locations.
It would have to be either a rad backpacking location or a road trip to some of my favorite locations in Utah. Oh and of course you cant forget Raising Canes. That has a special place in my heart haha.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Grandpa is the first person that came to mind. Growing up he would always say “You’re a good kid. But what are you good for?”He meant it as a joke but I took it personally and I ask myself that almost every day.
There is one book however that did change my life and that is “The Third Door” by Alex Banayan. It helped me realize that becoming what I am good for takes going through the third door. That is the only wa
