Meet Leilani Williams | Body Piercer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Leilani Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leilani, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson my career has taught me so far was how to balance your work life, social life, and personal life. Being my own boss within a business that includes work outside of work, I kept myself too busy for the first couple years, and totally drained myself. Being able to balance work and your own personal life is very important.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being in the body art/body modification industry, you have to set yourself apart from the other growing artists around you. Building relationships with clients, and making them comfortable during g the piercing process, is how I set myself apart from other piercers. Some piercings are very intimate, and ensuring the person getting pierced that everything is okay, and walking them through the process is the best way to ensure the piercing ends up the best it can, and the one being pierced feels safe! I have also set myself aside within the body art world because I am very educated on different bodily anatomy, and love to pierce using these differences to an advantage!!
I have also started making my own Jewlery, whether rings, earrings, or pendants for necklaces, I make them for myself, and family and friends. Coming December 2024, this Jewlery will be sold on my page as well!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being from the Longmont/Boulder area, I would take my friend to Lake McIntosh to paddle-board, and enjoy the sunshine. We would hike Chautauqua, and enjoy a yummy lunch at the Tap and Garden in Lafayette!! Driving through all these beautiful cities, near all the green grass, full trees, and bodies of water would be a great way to spend the weekend!! I would show my friend Red Rocks and catch a concert there, and ride my motorcycle around the Lyons area in the mountains!! Shoutout to beautiful Colorado!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Skinhouse Studio for allowing me a professional, clean space to practice my profession alongside other amazing artists!
