Meet ABSD DeLoach | Founder / Creator of Change

We had the good fortune of connecting with ABSD DeLoach and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi ABSD, how does your business help the community?
A Better Standard Direction helps the community and the world through cultivating a responsibility of self within each person that the organization interacts with.
We teach humans how to turn within and take responsibility for their own life and happiness. We believe that when you live your life through a lens of love for yourself first, your cup overflows and all that is left is an abundance of love for others and the community.
We acknowledge that changing the world is not a task that is meant to be done by any one person but rather by the collective as a whole.
Rooting in love for ourselves first, learning how to be selfish for our own needs and advocating for them to be respected by placing healthy boundaries helps the community grow from a place of mutual understanding.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Professionally, I have never fit into the box. My whole life I have wondered where I fit in the professional world. I was always great at cultivating connections or acting professionally when I needed to but it never sat completely right with me.
I never knew what to search up when it came to looking for jobs or how to ‘sell’ my skills that I embody. Every professional job I held always left me feeling like there was a piece missing.
A Better Standard Direction is a cultivation of self that has been developing inside of me for over two years and arguably my whole life. I went on a journey of self love in my own life and watched how cultivating love within myself truly changed every single aspect of my life.
Before this happened, I was running on false confidence and an emptiness inside of me that was rooted in self doubt and hatred for the person I was.
This journey happened when I was in the process of growing a travel agency business. There was a great disconnect I was experiencing when creating this business because I was trying to cultivate it from a place of lack rather than a place of love. Through this journey of self love and discovery, I actually realized that I was trying to create this travel business for all the wrong reasons and it was not where my passion was. I had to put my ego aside and grow in understanding that this travel business was only a stepping stone to help me get to where I was truly meant to be. Building yet another organization that I had to close was incredibly discouraging, yet I knew it was the right thing for me.
My story and my brand of A Better Standard Direction is still at the beginning of their stories. A Better Standard Direction was built off the lessons I have learned in my own life for how to cultivate a life that makes me excited to wake up in the morning and live. I watch and listen to humans everywhere struggle with the norms that our society has created for them to live inside of. It is my mission to redefine those norms through the individual journey.
We may not be able to change the whole world, but we can help change the individuals in the world. If I can help people tap into their true power that is tied into the energy of love, we can slowly change the way our world is through each individual lens.
I have seen how beneficial love has been to my own life. And this is coming from a human where my inner dialogue was nothing but destructive to myself. A Better Standard Direction is showing people that there is a better standard of life that is available to all of us. We are the tools and the direction to help you get there. This is available to all of us all the time but the cultivation of changing the way your brain is wired to think simply takes time and intention. Our goal is to slowly help people integrate a lens of self love so that it is not overwhelming to their being as a whole.
I am most proud of continuing to show up for myself with a lens of love and teaching others how to do the same. Continuing to meet myself with grace everyday. On the days where I am standing on the mountain top and on the days where I feel like I am buried underground. Every obstacle, challenge, or success I meet myself with love, grace and compassion. Not every day is simple but I am proud of myself for continuing to try.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Specifically, I first want to shout out my supportive and loving partner Nick. Without his love, support, safety and foundation that he created for our family I would not have had the space to develop into my fullness of self. I am grateful for his patience through all the transitions and changes that have come over the span of our marriage so far and I am in continuous awe that I am so lucky to have a best friend and partner in him.
Broadly, I want to shout out to my community who has witnessed the shifts I have made in my life since moving away from my home town in Florida to Colorado two years ago. Through the challenges and support that has been offered, this has allowed me to gain true clarity around who I am and how I want to show up in this world.
