We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Martello and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was a choice that took me a while to make. I had to make the decision between being able to create an environment I feel is positive environment for me and my clients and an environment I can control. I have always been a very creative person who loves to bring happiness and joy to others. Being in the beauty industry that is purpose to bring fulfillment and joy to clients and have them leave feeling beautiful. Nothing brings me more happiness to finish a set on a client and watch them glowing with happiness and admiring my work. It makes all of the other frustrations of being an entrepreneur worth it

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I want the world to know the Bombnailz brand and I have come into the beauty industry specifically the nail industry to bring knowledgable , awareness, transparency, and a luxury experience all in one. We are a brand for all ages, races, sexual orientation and support everyone. I decided at the age of 29 that I wanted some different and better for myself. I decided to sign up for school to learn, study and become a licensed nail artist. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be a nail tech or build a nail brand or do both but i knew I needed to start somewhere. After completing nail school and passing state board it was time to hit the ground running. Although that is what I planned to do covid-19 hit and made it impossible to start my new nail career or so i thought. I had to sit back and really dig into my creative side and figure out how could I still use my creative side with nails and make it profitable during a pandemic. I decided to create a brand of products as well as practice practice practice my skill, so when it was time to start taking clients I felt confident in myself and my work. The road is definitely challenging trying to start a business, running it And making sure it profitable but it is also very rewarding. I am proud of true progress I’ve made over a year.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them on a trip to the city. San Francisco is such a beautiful city with so much to do! We could site see on pier 39, garadelli square, Alcatraz and so much more. Don’t get me started on the endless places to eat! The Sf Bayarea is such a melting pot of cultures that there is so many Authentic places to eat from “little Italy” to “China town” . Seeing the Golden Gate Bridge and marina county is so beauitful and has amazing driving and walking trails. The bars and lounges in sf are also very nice! The W hotel, union square just to name a few. End the weekend at one of the many beautiful coastline beaches with a nice bread bowl of soup.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes! I would definitely like to shout out my fiancé and business partner Joshua Costello. When I was in an unsure phase in my life and unsure what I kind of career path I should take he encouraged me to pursue my career in the beauty field. He motivated me with ideas, encouraging words and knowing what a creative I am. He known I’ve had a natural talent and passion for all things beauty. With him having a business background he agreed to go into business with me and help me create our brand Bombnailz. I feel if it wasn’t for him and his support and push I might not be where I am today. So to him I am so thankful and you deserve a shout out!
