I saw that many independent musicians struggled to break through because they lacked the connections or resources to get their music heard. Relocating to Colorado from Columbus, Ohio 5 years ago was a huge decision that has contributed to my success both professionally and personally. I do occasionally shoot some in-home newborn photography sessions but the majority of my shoots are outdoors. The natural landscapes we have here in Colorado are a major component of what makes my images so beautiful. Sarah Deangelo | Jewelry artist

I grew up in LA. I had a wild childhood. My dad bought an old school bus and converted it into a traveling school! We drove all around LA in our hippy school bus, doing school in the bus, then exploring the world. He was diagnosed with cancer when I was 9, and died shortly after. Losing my dad at that age changed the fabric of my being. Despite the trauma of losing him, I believe I inherited his free, adventurous spirit. My mom and grandmother were sound editors in Hollywood.
