We had the good fortune of connecting with Shea Wasson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shea, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I wanted to show people just how fun and creative a cocktail, beer cocktail or mocktail can be all by utilizing fresh ingredients. I also love playing around with fun, unique garnishes such as flavored cocktail air, spicy tuiles to homemade rimming salts. Whether we know it or not, we all eat and drink with our eyes so it’s all about the garnish game.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So it all started working in the restaurant business for 13 years with 10 of those years I was bar manager at a restaurant called Via Baci. After that I left the restaurant world to pursue my love for the craft beer industry which included brewing, managing, event coordinating and was also the Beer Specialist at a large local liquor store. I did all of that for about 7 years with some overlap of working still bartending at the restaurant until I decided finally start a business of my own.

Professionally, I wouldn’t be the business owner I am today without the experience of managing restaurants, liquor stores and breweries – period. This service industry is definitely not easy on ones mental and physical self. During the 18 year duration of working for other businesses, I have had a lot of amazing highs but also a whole lot of extreme lows but I needed all of those experiences to mold me into the business owner I am today.

With all of that, I took the idea of not only starting Shea Mobile Bepsoke Bar, LLC, I also started another business known as Beerspoke Experience, DBA. Where I pop-up at local breweries to make beer cocktails with their beer. It’s one of those things where it shouldn’t work, but it totally does.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a big ole drink and foodie so I would start the week long trip with the first day or two by wining and dining through Denver by taking them to a handful of my favorite local breweries, restaurants and bars. We’d sip beers at Lady Justice Brewing, Call to Arms Brewing or Cerebral brewing while eating tasty bites from the local food trucks like Outside Pizza. Then we’d fill our bellies with some of the most delicious food in town starting with Yuan Wonton, Hops & Pie and then finally check out Mezcaleria Alama. Finally,, for evening adventures I would take them to some of my favorite cocktail bars such as Death & Co, Williams and Graham and most likely end up at Hell or High Water because I am a total nerd for tiki cocktials.

I would most likely take them up to either Breckenridge for a few days to also stroll through town to all of the amazing local eats and drinks there, go on hikes while saving time to swing by my other favorite local brewery in Frisco called Outer Range.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh goodness – I don’t even know where to start with this shoutout because there are so many humans in my life that helped pave the way for my business. I’ll start with my spouse, Jesse, my parents, my best friend Jess and all of her family and all of the LTBC ladies (you know who your are). Myself and my business literally would be where it is today without all of your unconditional love and support!
